Lake Annecy is very suitable for swimming, with clean clear water and an average water temperature between 22°C and 24°C in summer.

Various attentions are set up for swimmers: lifeguards and water protected areas (perfect with kids) at the municipal beaches, wide shore strips (delineated by yellow conical buoys) for those who practice a sporty swim.

In Annecy, there are 3 beaches: Marquisats (free entrance), Imperial (with admission fee) and Albigny (free entrance).
Going to the South of the lake, you'll find on the Eastern shore: Veyrier-du-Lac (free), Menthon-Saint-Bernard (paying), Talloires (paying), Angon (paying), Doussard (free).
Also from Annecy, on the Western shore: Sevrier (paying), Saint-Jorioz (paying), Duingt (free), Doussard (free).

The most unspoilt beach is located on the Southern wildest part of Bout-du-Lac, Doussard, from which it is possible to freely access by foot to the Natural Reserve where live beavers, hidden among the reeds.
